We’re pleased to announce that in V11 of aspenONE, localized user interfaces in many popular languages have been included as part of general availability. This is the first time AspenTech has rolled out localized software at the same time as the English release. 

AspenTech has offered localized software since V7.3. As we received more feedback about the value of localization to our customers, we’ve worked to enhance the user experience and speed availability. In V9, we began working with channel partners who have both domain and linguistic expertise to improve the quality of the translations. While in the past, localization was a separate endeavor, now it has become an integrated part of our software development process conducted in tandem with testing.

For global customers with operations in different countries, localization can help ensure consistency and accuracy, allowing them to use the same software across all locations. Having software in native languages provides broader access as use isn’t limited to English speakers.    

Tatiana Pivkina, Lead Process Engineer, Operations Design Department at Novokuibyshevsk Petrochemical Company explained, “Aspen Plus V9.0 in Russian allowed us to quickly solve production problems and simulate technological processes achieving the desired result in a shorter time… It’s really important for us to have the latest localized version of the AspenTech software, which allows users to learn faster and use all the tools to their full potential.”

Several of our Japanese customers also commented on the value of having localized AspenTech software. One said that having Japanese software available is extremely helpful in educating new employees and light users.  

Another bulk chemical manufacturer stated, “The AspenTech software Japanese version makes it so even beginners are able to use the software smoothly. We can expect that it drives utilization and promotion of AspenTech solutions in our company.” 

Currently, nearly 20 percent of our manufacturing and supply chain customers use localized software. Products across the Manufacturing Execution Systems, Advanced Process Control, Petroleum Supply Chain and Supply Chain Management families are available in some or all of the following languages:

• Chinese
• French
• German
• Italian
• Japanese
• Korean
• Portuguese
• Russian
• Spanish

Engineering programs Aspen Plus®, Aspen HYSYS® and Aspen OnLine® are available in Chinese, Japanese and Russian.
