I’m proud to share that AspenTech has been named to Fast Company’s annual list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2023. Specifically, AspenTech was listed among the top five companies in manufacturing, making commercial and industrial processes more efficient and sustainable. Our inclusion among this distinguished group of companies recognizes AspenTech’s long history of delivering innovative digital solutions that help customers in asset-intensive industries meet the increasing demand for resources from a growing population with increasing standards of living, while addressing sustainability goals at the same time.
For decades, AspenTech’s solutions have been used by energy companies to help achieve their profitability, efficiency and, most recently, sustainability goals. Meeting profitability and sustainability targets involves a complexity of options because there is no “one-size-fits-all” approach for all companies. Fast Company called out AspenTech’s Sustainability Pathways as a best practice to assist companies in navigating these decisions. These structured solutions are designed to help customers strategically meet their sustainability targets across the most impactful areas, ranging from energy efficiency and waste reduction to plastics circularity and carbon dioxide as feedstock to many others.
In addition to the sustainability pathways, I am excited about our launch of a new emissions management solution, which features AspenTech Operational Insights™, a proven decision support capability that unites, correlates, analyzes and visualizes data from across an organization for fast, confident decision-making on critical items affecting emissions.
Other AspenTech milestones cited by Fast Company in its decision making included:
- The recent launch of V14 of our flagship aspenONE® software which delivers not only advanced intelligence and guidance capabilities, but also includes more than 100 sustainability sample models to help customers jumpstart progress in the areas including emissions management, carbon capture and renewable energy
- Our commitment to providing a range of education and training programs to help customers address talent gaps so prevalent in the market today. To date, more than 1,000 people have taken part in AspenTech’s Sustainability Training Program for customers and partners. The program contains practical examples from AspenTech’s sustainability models, and aligns with key sustainability technology pathways that are helping companies get closer to meeting their sustainability goals
Although these types of unique technology and solutions innovations being brought to market compelled Fast Company to recognize AspenTech, being named one of the world’s most innovative companies also stemmed from the significant organizational transformation AspenTech underwent with the Emerson transaction in May 2022. This development, and the integration we’ve been undergoing since, further expand AspenTech’s ability to help customers address the dual challenge.
The addition of Digital Grid Management and Subsurface Science & Engineering businesses strengthened our ability to help customers take advantage of digitalization in areas like carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS) and integrating renewable energy sources into the grid.
The first few months of my AspenTech tenure have been spent meeting, listening to and collaborating with my colleagues, and it’s clear to me that our industry-leading work will continue making a significant impact on our customers’ ability to achieve their profitability and sustainability goals. This acknowledgement from Fast Company shows I’m not alone. I look forward to continuing the momentum and delivering more innovation for our customers that will be critical to addressing sustainability. There is no time to waste.
